X Factor judge Nicole Scherzinger has insisted that Rylan Clark can win the competition this year. 

The Pussycat Doll had previously admitted that the Essex performer wouldn’t make the final, but now reckons he could go all the way and win the show.

She said: “I don’t care what people say about Rylan, he’s my boy.

“He can win this competition, he can be a star and I am so proud of him for what he has had to put up with but the public support for him has been incredible.”

Speaking to the Sunday Mirror today, Nicole also gushed about her Jahmene Douglas.

Nicole, who is the only judge with all three acts remaining, added: “Jahmene is a sweetheart too, he has had a tough time but he is so talented.

“It’s crazy to think he was in a the supermarket for a year-and-a-half with a voice like that but everybody great comes from somewhere.”

In the interview with the newspaper, Nicole also revealed that doesn’t want to be a mother to her acts and lets them do their own thing outside of the show’s rehearsals.

“I’m their mentor, not their mum,” she said. “If they start swaggering around I’ll tell them to focus.”
