Less than 3 weeks before the play premieres in West End, London, the first rehearsal photos of “Sunset Boulevard” have been released. The play is an adaptation of the 1950 film of the same name.
Nicole Scherzinger takes on the lead role of Norma Desmond, a former silent film star whose career crumbled with the arrival of sound cinema. The character is crafted around the tragedy of a life consumed by fame and a desperate quest for recognition, as Norma remains in a constant state of denial, believing she is still a major film star and that the audience idolizes her. This delusion carries her throughout the play.
