Xtra Factor host Matt Richardson must count himself a lucky man, not only has he landed himself one of the most coveted roles on the box but he’s also had the pleasure of seeing Nicole Scherzinger in her PJ’s.

But before you get any ideas, he’s also seen Louis Walsh wearing his too.

Talking exclusively to Yahoo! omg! about life as Caroline Flack’s co-host on the Xtra Factor, Matt regaled an evening the X Factor team spent drinking at the hotel bar while having a pyjama party.

“There was a night where we were all in Manchester and we thought it would be a cool idea to all come down in our pyjamas to the bar,” Matt told us.

“We had this area we dominated because there was so many of us. Then there’s a point where you’re chatting to Nicole Scherzinger and you’re both in your pyjamas talking about pizza toppings that you like and you think ‘my life is weird now’.”

So what style of bed wear does Miss. Scherzinger opt for then?

“She had a daffy duck on a t-shirt then some cotton trousery things,” Matt explained.

“I was wearing blue chequered ones because I’m really fashionable.”

And it would seem that Nicole isn’t just a pretty face, comedian Matt reckons that she’s the funniest judge from this year’s panel.

He admitted: “Nicole’s really funny which I wasn’t expecting at all.

“With the other judges I knew they were funny and charismatic and fun to play around but Nicole is really funny. She’s so quick and so sharp.

“You don’t know what to expect from an A list beautiful woman because I’ve never met any before. But she’s really good. She plays along with things.

“She’s got loads of jokes that she throws at me like she’ll never call me Matt. She’ll pretend that she’s never met me before. Not even on camera, she’ll be in the hotel and say ‘oh hey Mark!’ because she knows it winds me up.”

Well we hope she’s joking about that.

Nicole may be the funniest judge but for Matt, there is one judge who he feels closest to after they took him under their wing following his first day of shooting.

He explained: “Sharon’s the least scary of all of them. She’s very motherly. On my first day I met her she was very fun and funny.

“Then at the bar afterwards we stayed up until four in the morning shooting the breeze. She’s probably the judge I’ve connected with the most.”
