Kimberly Wyatt: “I have not spoken to or seen Nicole in quite some time”

She may be a pussycat but she’s a feline with claws. Sharp claws.

Kimberly Wyatt has revealed all on her feud with X Factor judge Nicole Scherzinger, 34, after they fell out amid the band’s acrimonious split.

Revealing she has made repeated attempts to patch up their differences, Kim has finally given up on her one-time bandmate.

Speaking after hitting the DJ decks in the Daily Mirror bar at Aintree Festival yesterday, she said: “I have not spoken to or seen Nicole in quite some time… and that’s not through lack of trying.

“I’ve made enough first moves now, I feel the ball is in her court.”

Kimberly stressed that she wishes Nicole complete happiness and is “really happy” that she’s had great success.

“But I just hope that Nicole is actually happy as a person,” she added. “Our dealings together weren’t always easy – it wasn’t an easy situation to be in, in the Pussycat Dolls, period.

“But I have a lot of love for Nicole and if she offered (an olive branch) I would accept it with open arms.

“I have a lot of understanding but, at the same time, I wish we could get past that and just move on.

“I mean, jeez, let’s grow up and enjoy our lives.”

The band rose to fame as a burlesque act in LA. But in 2005, the girls – Kim, Nicole, Ashley Roberts, Jessica Sutta and Melody Thornton – became a global phenom with their first single, Don’t Cha.

Kimberly added: “Trying to shed the Pussycat Doll tag is tough but it’s something I’m trying to do by just working hard. It takes time.

“I’m trying to be known in my own right and I can’t be embarrassed or ashamed of the Dolls. They will always be a part of me and I’ll always be grateful for the platform the band gave me.”

But the 31-year-old singer – one of the nicest celebs I’ve interviewed – is too busy to bear grudges.

After launching a solo career and her own make-up range, in September Kimberly will return as a judge on Sky’s hit talent show, Got To Dance.

And at Aintree yesterday, she impressed with her DJing skills, too. Performing a fab hour-long set at the races – supported by the Daily Mirror – she only downed tools to peg it trackside and cheer on the horses up-close.

Later she said: “That was fun. I’m more used to DJing at night events but that was an experience. I’ve never actually seen a horse race up close.”

But there is a reason Kimberly is branching out: money. The outspoken star – a rarity in showbizland – reckons the declining music industry and illegal downloading mean there is no longer a vast amount of money to be made in pop.

It’s something manufactured bands such as One Direction – and Harry Styles, currently toying with the idea of a solo career – should be aware of.

She explained: “If I could advise One Direction it’d be this: be smart. Remember this won’t last for ever and your lifeline is the person standing next to you. If your ego becomes bigger than the band, that’s when it comes crumbling down.” (Hello again, Nicole!)

She went on: “We live in a world now where everyone has their hands in the pool of money. So what an artist ends up with is less than it was before. It’s important artists put their business heads on. You can’t always rely on music.”

And for fans of Missouri-born Ms Wyatt, some good news: she’s moving to the UK. For good.

She said: “Although your weather is truly terrible, I love it here. I’m renting in North London at the moment but am moving South at the weekend.

“The plan is to check out different parts of the city, find somewhere I love, and buy a place in about a year’s time.”

Another of Kimberly’s ex-bandmates Ashely Roberts is also living in the UK, and she recently said she was enjoying “having fun” with a certain Declan Donnelly.

Whilst Nicole Scherzinger is strongly rumoured to be returning as a judge on this year’s X Factor, which kicks off again on TV in August.

Only one of the Pussycat Dolls made it into 3am’s top 100 girl crushes list – and which one might surprise you.

Actually it won’t, we all know who it is, but let’s pretend like you don’t and have a little flick through the gallery below, eh?
