“He’s afraid of me”: Nicole Scherzinger hits back at Simon Cowell
Feb 27 2012

Simon Cowell described the ex Pussycat Doll as having “Daffy Duck’s brain” but the beauty of cartoon character Jessica Rabbit last year

Axed X Factor USA judge Nicole Scherzinger has fired back at Simon Cowell’s looney tune comments about her – and puts it down to him being “afraid”.

Cowell, 52, described the ex Pussycat Doll as having “Daffy Duck’s brain” but the beauty of cartoon character Jessica Rabbit, last year.

Now Nicole has hit back: “I know I’m not ditzy like Daffy Duck. If I seem that way, maybe it’s just me being coy. Simon’s just afraid of me.”

Talking of the show Nicole, 33, who is back with F1 ace Lewis Hamilton, also told Vibe magazine: “I think the biggest thing I have for me is my heart, as cheesy as that sounds. I cared so much about the contestants and wanted to make sure we bring out the best in them.”

The singer replaced Cheryl Cole on the panel when the Girls Aloud star was axed after a fortnight on the show. Nicole, who had been a co-presenter alongside Steve Jones, will not return for the second series.

Brit host Steve and judge Paula Abdul were also culled ahead of next season.

Simon has said of the ladies on the panel: “It wasn’t anything negative about them.”

Previously, Nicole, who recently rekindled her romance with British Formula 1 champ Lewis Hamilton, has said: “I gave 110% to that show. I know everybody’s talking about it.

“They either love me or hate me. But the one thing you can’t say is that I didn’t give it my all. I had a wonderful experience being on the show.

“I loved being part of my X Factor family. Nothing could prepare me for what I had to go through, all the emotions and stuff, but I have no regrets.”
