Some reports said the new five-piece, were going to be called PCD Mark 2 when they were put together by the same management team.

But the original PCD leader knows the truth.

Nicole, 36, right, told me: “Nobody could ever replace the Pussycat Dolls and G.R.L were never ever going to be the new PCD. They are very pop. Dr Luke is involved and they are five different gorgeous girls doing their own thing. They’re adorable but the Dolls set-up was very different. It was a unique time and nothing else had ever come out like that before.”

Although Nicole’s concentrating on her solo career, she’s still up for some more PCD action.

“The Dolls hold a special place in my heart,” she said.

“Nobody can touch us. Hopefully we’ll get back together.”

While Nicole’s new album promises to be an R&B pop opus, she has plans to change things for the next record.

She revealed: “When I’m older I’m going to do my Sade album or a standards album.”

But if her famous purple pal has his way she’d be in his group.

“Prince is a good friend of mine and he’s always wanted me to sing more soul rock,” Nic said.

Nic’s Your Love is out now while G.R.L release their single Ugly Heart on August 11.
